This work opened the way to material recognition for all manufacturers of similar systems in the world. All world scientific publications in the field of material recognition have a link to this basic work.
The Scantronic Systems scientific team, headed by S. A. Ogorodnikov, continues to develop this method, improving it based on experience in operating our systems and constant scientific work in this area.

High energy material discrimination technology by effective atomic number

The image analysis software developed by our specialists, colors each of discriminated material group on the x-ray image in different colors, which provides an improved perception of the image by the operator

All our x-ray inspection systems use unique own developed linear electron accelerators based on multibeam klystrons as a source of bremsstrahlung, which have high characteristics in terms of beam quality and stability

Linear electron accelerators, which are customized for each type of inspection system, have a number of unique advantages, such as:

    - mass and size characteristics; - energy and dose rate control range; - energy and dose rate stability; - focal spot size

Such parameters are achieved due to unique grouping and focusing properties of the accelerating structure, multibeam klystron technology, solid-state modulator, monitoring and control system

Color intensity transformation technology for x-ray imaging to optimize operator perception of discrimination of materials

An important aspect of x-ray image analysis with material discrimination is its quality visualization. Color hue has the highest degree of discrimination compared to other components and is independent of intensity

Scantronic Systems has developed a special algorithm of non-linear intensity channel transformation (X-HDR technology) to provide an improved perception of the image by the operator simultaneously in the whole dynamic range, thus reducing the time spent on its analysis

The primary colors used: red, green, blue and purple correspond exactly to the discriminated material groups and are distinguishable regardless of intensity
